Not so Chatty :)

I've been busy, but I know that's just an excuse! I really should be stopping by here more often and maintaining my blog. But I really HAVE been busy - I just need to recommit to this!

We had our 9th annual school fundraising gala two weeks ago. I am the co-chair of the event. We raised $46,000, which is our best year ever! It was a lot of fun - this year's theme was "Denim and Diamonds". I wore dressy jeans and a nice top. I think some people were confused by the theme (they couldn't decide what to wear), but I guess everyone figured it out, because they all looked great!

It's a fun night out - a lot of work for me for months and months beforehand, but well worth it.

Blogging Blur

Boy, I'm having a hard time keeping up with my blogs! I'm not sure why I just can't make a commitment to it. Maybe it's because I increased my hours at my "real" job in January, but I'm only working four additional hours per week, so you wouldn't think that would cut into blogging too much!

Any ideas for finally making a commitment to keep up with this? Does anyone want to share their goals or to do lists? Do you have a schedule of things you do every day, once a week, etc? (I could probably use some weight loss tips too LOL!)

Working From Home

With my kids in school all day and me only working 12 hours a week outside the home, my husband and I have been talking for a long time about increasing our income. I finally decided that the best way to increase our income but continue to have the flexibility to be available for the kids, I would try to find something to do from home.

I started thinking about starting a crafting business. I love scrapbooking and other crafts, but thought that it wouldn’t make the money I wanted/needed and there was also a cash outlay on the front end that I didn’t want. Since I already spend a lot of time on the computer every day, I started looking at ways to make money with the computer. I looked into several “work from home” or telecommuting jobs. Unfortunately, working for a specific company automatically cut into the flexibility that I wanted – either I would have to be available during certain hours or I would have to work more hours per week than I wanted to.

So I finally started learning about blogging. I had no idea that people actually made money by blogging – it was a totally new concept to me. It took me a long time to get my blogs going and learn all the ins and outs of monetizing my blogs, but it’s been a great learning experience and a lot of fun! One of the companies I’ve been working for is blog advertising. Their opportunities are great and they pay more than other “pay you to blog” companies do. They have a new layout that is so easy to maneuver around – some websites are so difficult to understand, but not this one! It’s so easy to find their open opportunities - everything is highlighted so you can quickly find the opportunities that your blog is qualified for. I wish all blog advertising companies were this easy to work with!

Not so Chatty!

I can't believe my last blog entry was on February 1st!! I know I've been busy, but to be completely honest with myself, I've been lazier than I have been busy! It's so easy to make other things a priority - like playing computer games - how stupid is that!!!

So now I'm recommitting to updating my blogs more regularly!! You'll be seeing fresh posts again soon!
