Grrrr - I hate car issues

Last week when I was out of town, we had our 10 year old Dodge Caravan in the shop for repairs. We needed a new muffler and exhaust system and something (oil, water??) was leaking and causing a bad smell every time the heat or a/c was turned on. In addition to that, the airbag light is on, the cruise control and the horn don't work. We weren't going to pay a lot to get the last three items fixed, but we were happy to find out that there is one part broken that will repair all three things and there's a lifetime warranty on it. So we just need to take it to the dealership to get it fixed (where, I'm sure, they will find another trillion things wrong with the van). The few things we did get fixed cost $950 - ouch!

Yesterday I was backing the van out of the garage and hit the side of the garage with the mirror - ugh! We've done this a bunch of times, but this time the mirror decided to break - the mirror itself fell out of the frame for the mirror, which is still attached to the vehicle. The mirror is still attached by wires, but it's hanging down and swinging in the wind LOL. I tried to Super Glue it back together yesterday but I think it's already too cold outside for Super Glue. It's amazing how much you actually use the mirror - you don't realize it until it's not there!

I refuse to pay a lot of money to get it fixed though - I'm sure the dealership will want an arm and a leg for it.

When I read this blog I had to laugh. We just had our car in, and spent 650.
While drivng the car home it started shaking again. He called the garage up, and said after 650 dollars it is STILL shaking. They said to bring it back and he will get him fixed up. I said to Bernie NO!! I thought it was the tires and go to his buddy here in town and have the tires checked, and guess what....the two front tires are different sizes and we need new ones on the front only. SO....after 650 dollars all we really needed was tires!!!

I feel your pain in car repairs!
